We are one of the groups committed to changing the Entertainment landscape. The bottom of the distribution pyramid has dropped out with the advent of the Internet. Content creators in all aspects of entertainment can now bring their work directly to you.

There's a Creative Renaissance coming.

The entire entertainment world is changing. Technological advances and the subsequent dissolution of the customary distribution model have set this sector’s business grid into chaos. The music business was the first to react to this change and now the TV and Film world is following the same path.

This is bad news for Entertainment’s corporate establishment, but very good news for content creators. These corporations have vertically and horizontally consolidated to such an extent that now far less content is made for fewer outlets. At the same time, the bottom of the distribution pyramid has dropped out and the companies have, for the first time, lost their grip on distribution control. This dramatic shift creates a vast frontier within which content creators may control their own work. The content can now be made without the often stifling executive notes and changes requested of our work that have become the norm in corporate entertainment.

At FM78.tv we also recognize that ALL TV and Film distribution will be through the Internet exclusively in short order. We therefore see no sense in wasting time before getting high-quality professional content on-line. We have seen user content and we have seen professionals doing user content, but we are focused on bringing the high level of professional entertainment we have been doing our entire careers straight to the Net.

Our business model is simple: write the best possible scripts, rewrite them, then cast the best actors you can find, assemble the most talent crew available, pay union rates across the board, film the project, pay pointed attention in post production, do as much press as possible (both traditional and non-traditional) across all platforms for the launch, and then get it seen by as many viewers as possible. Basically, we do not believe in doing a lower level of work for the Internet than what we have always done in “Old Media”. We believe in working at this high-quality level no matter the distribution platform.

  • Hey guys, now that the paperwork’s been signed, we can finally share with you this new project that FM78.tv is doing. Warner Premiere (the digital arm of Warner Bros) has hired us to adapt a book collection they own, “The Clique”, and turn it into a web series. FM78.tv partners Justine Bateman and Jill Kushner are writing the script with their third partner, Peter Murrieta, Executive Producing with them. I know it’s ironic to be doing a New Media project with a Traditional Media company, but Lydia Antonini at Warner Premiere is one of the ones that “get it” about the digital space.  (Most of the pictures in this mashup are by the talented Steven Meiers)

The story follows CJ Stubbs as she learns the true meaning of earning a living when her candy CEO Dad calls her back to the family-run company to help out. After years of chasing after rock stars and living “the authentic life”, CJ Stubbs must enter the corporate world of candy manufacturing in order to satisfy her father’s desire that she “learn the value of a dollar”. Little does she know that she actually has a knack for running a candy company, so she then must hide this fact or be stuck there forever. It was written by Justine Bateman, Jill Kushner, and Peter Murrieta. The show will star Justine Bateman (Desperate Housewives, Men in Trees, Family Ties), Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Daddy Day Care), Judd Nelson (Breakfast Club, New Jack City), Buck Henry (The Graduate, Heaven Can Wait, To Die For), Wallace Langham (CSI, The Larry Sanders Show), Beverly D’angelo (Law and Order, SVU, Entourage, National Lampoon’s Vacation), Suzy Nakamura (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The 40-year Old Virgin) and the comedian, Doug Stanhope. Steve Pink (Accepted, High Fidelity, Gross Pointe Blank) will direct.
